Chemitex Pharmacy sits on Hornsey Road in N7, right in the middle of one of North London’s busiest residential stretches. Holloway Road Station is a few minutes’ walk away. If you’ve ever tried to get a GP appointment within the week, or needed something the NHS doesn’t cover, you’ll know why having a pharmacy that can actually do more than dispense prescriptions is useful. That’s what we’ve built here.
We offer both oral and injectable weight loss programmes. Oral options include Orlistat (generic and branded as Xenical and Alli), and injectable programmes cover Mounjaro (tirzepatide), Wegovy and Ozempic (both semaglutide). These aren’t handed out without an assessment. Every patient has a face-to-face consultation with our pharmacist first.
We supply Sildenafil (Viagra), Tadalafil (Cialis), Vardenafil, and Avanafil. All require an in-person consultation. Sildenafil starts from £1.50 per tablet, Tadalafil from £2.50, Vardenafil from £3.75, and Avanafil from £5. Discretion is standard; there’s a private consultation room on site.
Norethisterone (Utovlan) is available with no advance notice required. Pricing runs from £15 for a 10-day delay up to £30 for a 20-day delay. If you’re planning around a holiday, event, or medical procedure and need to delay your period quickly, we can usually see you the same day.
We administer Hydroxocobalamin at £29 per injection. This is the form of B12 used in NHS clinical practice, and it’s the one with the longest retention time in the body. If you’ve been told by your GP that your B12 is low, or if you’re vegan and managing levels privately, we can help.
Microsuction and manual removal are both available, performed by healthcare assistants and dispensers trained by Clear Clinics. Pricing is £35 for one ear and £70 for both. If you’ve been using ear drops for a few days first, results are generally better, but it’s not a requirement.
Chemitex Pharmacy holds official registration as a Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. We issue NATHNAC-approved International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), the document most countries with a yellow fever risk require for entry.
This registration isn’t something every pharmacy can get. The requirements are strict: the pharmacy must meet specific storage, training and record-keeping standards, and the vaccinator must be formally recognised. We meet all of them.
If you’re travelling to sub-Saharan Africa, South America, or parts of the Caribbean and need proof of yellow fever vaccination at the border, you need a registered centre specifically. A certificate from an unregistered provider won’t be accepted. We issue certificates that are valid from 10 days after vaccination and, since 2016, are valid for life.
Every yellow fever appointment includes a travel health consultation. We look at your full itinerary, your health history, any medications you’re on, and the specific risks for your destination before recommending a vaccination plan. Yellow fever is usually one part of that; you may also need hepatitis A, typhoid, malaria prophylaxis, or other cover depending on where you’re going.
We stock and administer a wide range of travel vaccines. The full list includes Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Cholera, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis, Meningitis ACWY, Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio, Tick-Borne Encephalitis, and others.
For patients who need multiple vaccines, we’ll schedule your appointments so that the timing works, some vaccines need two doses spaced weeks apart, and some can’t be given at the same time as others. We handle the planning rather than leaving that to you.

Our Independent Prescriber is a qualified pharmacist who can assess, diagnose and prescribe without a GP referral. That’s a significant difference from a standard dispensing pharmacist.
The practical value of this depends on your situation. If you fall outside NHS eligibility for a treatment, or if you need a clinical assessment and a prescription the same day, an Independent Prescriber removes the step where you’d normally have to go back to your GP first.
Private shingles treatment is a clear example. Under NHS Pharmacy First, antivirals are only issued to patients who meet specific criteria, broadly, those aged 50 or over, presenting with severe pain or a rash outside the trunk, all within 72 hours of symptom onset. Patients outside those criteria can’t access treatment through the NHS pharmacy route. Our Independent Prescriber can see them, do a clinical assessment, and prescribe the same visit if appropriate.
The same applies across other services where private prescribing opens access that NHS eligibility rules close off.
Beyond travel health, we offer a range of private vaccinations for patients who either don’t qualify for NHS-funded doses or prefer not to wait.
Available for ages 9 to 45, for both men and women. The NHS HPV programme covers specific age groups in schools; for anyone outside that window, private vaccination is the route. £165 per dose.
Available for adults and children from 1 year (and babies from 9 months). £55 per dose.
Administered under PGD for the general public, healthcare workers, and close contacts of vulnerable people. £70 per dose.
Requires a consultation or prescriber review before appointment. £65.
